Whatever happened to Ostrich becoming the red meat to replace beef?

Had a buffalo burger monday night. It was alright. Prefer beef though.
Ostrich isn't bad either. Still prefer beef.

The Ostriches all buried their heads in the sand so we assumed that as they couldn't see us, we couldn't see them and so therefore they were not there. Cunning huh?

I had one of them at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen with Will a few weeks ago. I thought it was quite nice. Like beef but a bit sweeter.

I tried a trio of burgers the other night - ostrich, kangaroo and buffalo. All had very distinct flavours but I preferred one over the others. If only I could remember which was which!

I've tried venison, pork, ostrich, beef, roo, bison, buffalo plus a couple more that I cant remember. A good beef burger though is still king.

I quite liked Kangaroo when I had it, though it was a steak not a burger. If it was readily available I would buy it. I do like beef but have it very rarely so would welcome being able to have something with that kind of a flavour more often.

Bison is where it is at. Had kangaroo tasted horrible. Will give it another go, just to see if it was the right taste.

Similar. I had a quad, and I can't remember either. Was in 2001 in Oz, so I'm unlikely to suddenly remember tomorrow. Not that I could tell at the time either having never had it before. Croc was on the same platter. Consider that a small token of revenge if you wish.

I can't remember what the other two are offhand. I do still have the original menu but it's buried in one of my holiday stuffs boxes.

None of them were objectional though, so I've no objection to them becoming somewhat more common.
