I don't know if I am honest. From my experience looking on the outside in, I guess a lot of it is male bravado fueld with alcohol. From what I have seen it is usually someone's B'Day or stag do or something like that. Maybe some of them aren't in relationships and they see it just as a bit of fun.

Went to a couple in Edinburghs famous Pubic Triangle a few years ago. I wasn't the one poor sod that the guys had paid cash for a dance in front of the whole bar. The strippers were all very appealing facially & bodily, but once the dance was over, the poor sod seated by the pole gets de-bagged & basically a cake is made in his man parts. Flour, eggs, water, & more flour. What makes it worse at this particular bar is that there are NO cubicles in the mens room to wash up, so early night unless you fancy bouncing around for a few hours with raw cake mix in your kegs.
One in Bolton had a stripper that looked like Peter Crouch in a burberry bikini so I thought this should be a laugh. Cost a tenner, £9.99 too much! She was frickin useless at dancin, smilin, chattin, living! Waste of money in long run, but after a few drinks on a big night out, a tenner is nothing huge.

I fail in understanding any of this. Male bravado and alcohol as an excuse? Surely not? How is being shagged senseless on stage infront of everyone, probably causing them to get some form of STD manly? Any man in a relationship/due to get married etc at these things and that get involved in that way deserve to have their testiballs chopped off. |

I've been to a couple of lapdancing places - one in Newcastle and one in Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen one was a slightly seedy place. There were no private cubicles for dances, it was all done in the open. I had a couple of dances and one of the girls pulled her knickers to the side and masturbated in front of me. Dodgy sort of place and I doubt if I'll be going back. I only went there because I was out drinking with one of my work colleagues and he insisted it was a great place - but then, he's a seedy sort of guy so I should have expected it. The place I went to in Newcastle (where Von didn't participate in any way ) was much more refined. The girls actually made an effort to have some sort of conversation with you before asking if you wanted a dance. I had a few of them chat to me but refused dances because I wasn't ready yet so they smiled and moved on to the next guy. Eventually a nice girl came to chat and seemed to be genuinely interested in the fact that I worked on the rigs (she said her uncle worked offshore for years). I don't know whether she was genuinely interested or not but it was much more pleasant than the Aberdeen place. Eventually she asked if I wanted a dance and I agreed so we went to a private area and she danced. She got her baps out but no foof and I have to say I found her dance much more erotic than the wide open flange girls in Aberdeen. I ended up getting 2 dances after which I handed over the cash and thanked her and told her she was lovely. Then went back to my seat, had a beer and watched the stage show for a bit whilst chatting to my companions. I think the classier places like the Newcastle one are perfectly fine and good entertainment. The seedier places like the one in Aberdeen are not worth visiting in my opinion. I was never offered any 'extras' in Aberdeen but it struck me as being the sort of place that would turn a blind eye to that sort of transaction.

Stan, you just perfectly illustrated the big difference between the places where they follow the rules and the places they don't.

I don't have a problem with the concept of it though I have been somewhat put off by it. I don't know, I went to my first one years ago as a fresher and I guess at the back of my mind I expected some random girl to do her stuff and I'd never see her again (sort of..the point of it). However got talking to her and found out she was in my year. I'm not entirely sure why I've not been since, but I now just don't see the point, since I can get a lot "more" by spending a lot less...
