Default Blackberry users here?

I'm due for an upgrade soon and am thinking of either the Omnia or a blackberry. Now it appears that the blackberry is suppose to be good with email and all that, but I never used one before. Anyone here who use one or perhaps an alternative to blackberry but still do that same thing? Thanks.

I have the 8800 works really well and is easy to type emails. I find the web browser more than adequate I have to say. GPRS works well too surprisingly quick.

Another BlackBerry user here, all paid for by the orifice

I'm highly impressed with it. Great for email as others have said. The battery life leaves any other device I've ever used for dead, if you use the email/SMS features but don't voice call much I am sure you could go 6 or 7 days without needing to recharge. Always seems to get good signal. Agreed that the browser leaves something to be desired though. SatNav is very good, used it in London the other day.

Dunno which carrier you are with, but you will probably need to pay an extra charge if you go the route of a BlackBerry, i.e. a normal phone tariff plus a data bundle.

I should add that I also use an HTC TyTNII as my own personal mobile. Email also good on that, though the BlackBerry is better. Syncs to Outlook easily. Battery life is terrible. The touch screen and interface is slightly laggy compared to the iPhone IMO. In fact, I am generally uninspired by WM6, which is a great shame as the TyTNII is a nifty bit of kit.

Mine is only for email and as you say I can go for a good week without charging it. The sat nav isn't brill IMO, but useful to get you to a street you don't know in town for example, all it does is download the maps in real time.

Precisely Will, wouldn't want the SatNav if I was lost in the Sierra Nevada, but it got me round Putney without too much bother

Oh thank you guys. I just want one as my love for gadget is slightly unhealthy! I very much doubt it will be used for work, but mainly for checking my mails every now and then.
