Do angels play harps?
Why would such powerful creatures with destruction and healing at their finger tips play such namby pamby instruments?
No Angels play electric guitars and they play them with bows, they hit bass guitars with sticks, scream into pickups, play drum kits like timpany and sing in voices so unearthly as to reduce the listener to tears even though they can't interpet the lyrics. The sound they make moves from a crashing wall of noise to a single note in the blink of an eye without sounding discordent or missing a beat and their audiences are inspired to sing along even though they have no lyrics. Angels are back lit and faceless they revel not in the fame that their music brings them but in the feelings they inspire and they are modest and shy. Angels are called things like Jonsi, Goggi, Kjarri and Orri MB |

I'm afraid these guuys don't come in pill, powder or plant form and they don't come and play live very often but when they do its a hell of a gig!
Aitch and I went to Ally Pally last night to see Sigur Ros and I have to say they were one of the most captivating acts I have had the pleasure of seeing, I loved every moment, totally inspiring. MB |

What's "namby-pamby" about an instrument that can be so heavy it takes several people to lift, that doesn't need any amplification or speakers to make a sound, that's been around for millennia and has been part of cultures across the world?
Harps are

You aren't wrong, I was trying to make a point in a vaguely poetic way. For all you harp lovers out there, I'm not harpist! MB |

Ha!
I love harps - if you ever get to see a live concert live where the music includes a lot of solo harp, you'll hear what an amazing instrument they are.

If Angels really do play harps, they play harps that are fifty feet tall and weigh about sixteen tons.
Nicely done!
