Default Laptop and Xbox 360.

I want to use my speakers with my 360, but my laptop isn't letting me for some reason.

I've got my speakers plugged into the normal jack (green) and I've got my VGA audio jack plugged into the mic socket, the way I had it on PC, and it worked fine.

Now the sound just wont work at all... I've tried to plug the end on my speakers into the back of my monitor and the monitor wont pick up any sound at all..

Any one know what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers

Is the Xbox outputting a surround sound signal that your laptop can't handle?

Have you made sure the mic port isn't muted?

My speakers are only 2.1 so it shouldn't be a problem?

not sure but is the mic selected for input, under XP we had this problem with the voip phones where it kept selecting the machine mic and not the phone mic.

There is an inbuilt mic on the laptop, maybe that could be messing with something?

I'm on Vista. It's strange because when I play a game or something, I see sound monitor jumping up and down as if it's registering sound, but there's just nothing comming through the speakers.
