Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle

New series starts tonight at 10pm on BBC2.

Probably my favourite stand-up ever, and hopefully this show is as good as his usual stuff. Apparantly the 'sketches' aren't up to much but the rest (which I assume is either stand-up-esque, or possibly much like Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe) should be very amusing and at least unpatronisingly cerebral.

About time he was back on the TV. Lee and Herring's 'This Morning With Richard not Judy' used to be the best thing on at one point.

Yay, I like Stewart Lee. Remember watching Fist of Fun on Fridays when I was probably too young to appreciate it, but still enjoyed it. Plus he's usually politically spot-on.

Have seen Stewert Lee and Richard Herrings last 3/4 tours each. The best 2 stand up comedians at the moment IMO

Can you get TMWRNJ or FoF on DVD btw? I can't seem to find either anywhere.

Cheers, I'm just listening now to reacquaint myself with the genius of Mr Lee.

Normally I'd be out tonight but I'll definitely be watching the first episode since I've got the chance.

Nope. None of the networks seem to want to release them. You can get the odd episode through torrents and stuff though. Hope they change their minds about releasing them some time.

Hmm, couple of good jokes but I've seen him do better. Still, nice to see him back.

Just watched it and it's a bit of a mixed bag, the sketches are pretty rubbish and completely at odds with the general premise that the audience is smart enough to link in their own jokes. For the most part the comedy was considered and relatively smart but there was at least one routine that went on long after the point had been made.

If I'm in on a Monday night again then I'll probably watch it because I did largely enjoy it but I'm not sure I'd be going out my way to watch it based on the first show.
