Default Max Payne 3 - Winter 2009

Max Payne 3 will arrive Winter 2009 according to Rockstar, publishers of the series.

Here's what Rockstar boss Sam Houser had to say about the sequel:

I'm not entirely sure on the developers, which has me a little worried, especially with Alan Wake still in development. But Max Payne and Max Payne 2 are two of my favourite 3 games of all time, so I'm pretty psyched about this... however there will be hell to pay if it sucks.

It will be available on all good formats, and PC too.

Heres to hoping its as amazing as the original, but cynically thinking it won't quite live up, but i'll enjoy it none the less. I'm also still waiting for Alan Wake, thats been years now!

Just like Crysis is the 'real' sequel to farcry, Alan Wake will be the 'real' sequel to Max Payne. The developers are the guys that made bully which doesn't inspire a huge amount of confidence in me seeing as i didn't like it much. Keeps saying 'this is max how we've never seen him before', why? I loved max as he was, why change a winning formula.

I'm going to remain dubious.

I don't think they mean it like that, I think they're just pointing out that time has changed between the years, possible the gap between Max Payne 2 and Max Payne 3 is real-time and a lot has gone on.

Hmmm, released on all three platforms? Console port alert! The development team is a little iffy though.

I'll be fair though in that fear and dead space were good.

I'm looking forward to it but I'll try not to expect too much, being honest more of the same would do me fine I suspect.

I thought the original games were for the PC first? Since you are being pedantic I am referring to the games being developed with consoles in mind on console hardware and then slung over to the PC

Its hard to get three games in a row perfect. It'll be a tough job to match the previous two in this day and age, where game development costs a ton of money in every area. MP 1 & 2 were developed in a totally different era, when things were a lot cheaper and 3D visuals were in their infancy.
