it's a bastardisation of would. as in "she would get it" becomes, "she wid get it" and then shortened to "WID".

It's an iPhone app. I've so far only been Pinged twice (both to say hello).

As for Ping Ping, I thought one ankle biter was enough, but two of them?

It'll have to be wellies in future then.
