Which generation are you?

After listening to the Radio2 debate the other day, I wondered how the members in here fit into these groups.

Baby Boomer 1943-1963

Generation X 1964-1981

Generation Y 1981-2001

Millenials. 2001+

Obviously none of you fall into the last group, so the poll only has three options

I get the 'Baby boomer' reference, but not Generation X/Y. What's the background to these?

If you goto the radio 2 site, search for Jeremy Vine and listen to the show dated 10/dec (yesterday) and listen from 1:09.15 seconds it should make more sense to you.
