Prefered wedding day for guests?
Question. You've been invited to a good friends wedding. Assuming you have to travel some distance, as most people here would, what day would you prefer it was? Would you mind putting in holidays at work for a friends wedding?
Iam obviously going somewhere with this Anymore thoughts? |

A Saturday.
/edit - To add detail, I wouldn't object to taking a single day off but a wedding is likely to involve an evening bash which means beer and then a hotel so it would mean taking two days off which is possibly a bit too much. So I suppose I should extend my original answer to: A Friday or Saturday. /edit again as a poll has been added - Out of those three options I chose Friday.

Let me extend also. Saturdays are out due to their popularity, and the extra charges they incur.

Exactly the same for Lynnie and myself. Obviously if we were invited we'd love to make it, but without being able to take weekdays off during term time we'd have no chance of making a Friday wedding. It is your day though, you need to do what's best for you guys

Absolutely any day you like
We chose a Sunday as it was cheaper than a Saturday but a lot of people wouldn't need to take time off work, granted some people would need to take the Monday off but if we had a Saturday nearly everyone would have had to take the Friday off. |

Heheh The dates when we'll both be off next year (not sure if Picky's will be the same) are....
Monday, 14th February - Friday, 18th February Monday, 4th April - Friday, 15th April Monday, 30th May - Friday, 3rd June Monday, 25th July - Friday 2nd September That's definitely right for me, Lynnie's should be the same (her school haven't confirmed yet)

Are Saturdays really that much more expensive?
Can't say I've ever looked into this
