Apple co-founder Steve Jobs dies aged 56
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15193922
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12215485 Whilst I'm not a fan of the direction that Apple have ended up taking there is no doubt that in the last 10 years Apple have released some world changing products and I've owned quite a few of them. I don't think I'll ever forget my wonder at the first Apple product I bought, a 4GB iPod Mini and the awe of the passengers around me on a flight to Toronto when I showed it to them 2 weeks after it was launched. People were genuinely astounded that such a small device could hold 20 CDs. |

Got my first mac in around 1991.
RIP Steve, gone far too soon. Inspirational man and reminder thst sometimes life can be far too short, so get out there and get what you want from it.

Apple certainly is a unique company... apparently just been informed he started up Pixar too! I never knew that! Genius!
I really like the products and even though it can be a bit cheesey american at times... the ethos of his company Apple is phenomenal. Unlike any other retailer in the world. Shame to see him go at such a young age. RIP Mister Jones. |

He was such a perfectionist, like insane levels of perfectionism. Quote:
If you haven't seen his graduation speech it's well worth watching. He was an amazing person.

You have George Lucas to thank for Pixar. Was a chunk of Lucasfilm.
