Default ScummVM and Ubuntu

I downloaded and installed scummvm on ubuntu last night, and the free packages with it for Beneath a steel sky, and flight of the phoenix or something. Now the question I have is this:
I have Monkey island 1 and 2 on CD (white label) and am new to linux. Can I install these games somehow onto the linux system and run them in scummvm? A step by step guide would be ace.

Ok, ignore that.. How do I copy the required files from the CD to usr/share/scummvm ?
I dont have permissions to create folders or put files there (even tho I am administrator). I need to use terminal to do this yeah?

The account that you are using to access the graphical interface will not be administrative. The way I always copy files is to use a terminal, then run a command similar to the following:

sudo cp /mnt/cdrom0/file1 /home/richard/where/i/want/the/file

Obviously replace the source and destination paths with whatever you need. The sudo command at the beginning runs the command as super user, the cp command is copy.

As Richard suggests, you'd be better putting the files in your home directory somewhere rather than /usr/share

Also used it to play Day of the Tentacle

Where are you lot downloading your games? The idea of being able to play Monkey Island and so on again really appeals to me.

I haven't downloaded what I have, I happen to own them. You're quite welcome to a copy of what I have.
