My new car...
In case anyone didn't see it over there I have a new car. I made it with my life spared, just. It's a ratty black 1954 Ford Pop, completely standard except for 'glass rear wings. So that's an 1172cc animal with three gears, first down where second normally is roaring through 5.5:1 gearing, tearing up some badass 4.5" wide crossply tyres. Vicious nosebleedesque braking is provided by rod operated 9" drums. Performance is 0-50 in 24 seconds.
Here are some pics I took this afternoon: Having attacked the inside with a number of screwdrivers, spanners and a wire brush I've got the interior out and stacked in the back of the garage. I'm pleasantly surprised for once that it's actually in much better condition than I was expecting. It's been restored at some point with all new panels and needs no welding at all. I just wire brushed the crud off the floor and gave it a once over with satin black. That bit in the middle is in fact a carpet, but the colour hasn't come out very well. The big holes are because it has wooden floors and I took them out. The passenger side actually had a serious dose of woodworm so it just crumbled away but it was easy to dispose of like that, and I'm left with the drivers side for a template which is handy. As you can see it needs a new exhaust, I have a stainless system on its way. In't boot: Down the side: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH just noticed the speedo goes up to 90, HAHAHAHAHA Ford, in your dreams!!!!!ONE2OWNED Work that needs doing is basically spannering. There's a bit of a knocking from the back so something needs tightening up propwise, one rod end needs replacing, the brakes are all fine. The engine is a runner but hasn't been run for some time so it'll be getting new points, condensor, plugs and leads ready for the big fireup, plus I'm swapping it over to negative earth and 12V as it's 6V currently. Future plans are as follows. Cammed up 100E engine fairly soon, juice the brakes using Anglia 105E drums on the front beam and a 105E rear axle, followed by souped up Anglia Super 1200cc and 4 speed box or other old combo. This will probably happen next summer as for now it's going to be the daily driver. And best of all is the girl likes it.

I've given the engine a once over with some new electrical bits so it's pretty much ready to fire up. Picking up a new exhaust tomorrow evening so later this week it might be driving about again. Just need that damn windscreen (the one in there is cracked to buggery but you can't see it in the photos) and some tyres which are frighteningly expensive. It's all cost me a bit more than I was expecting but I guess I'll get it back when I sell it.

Beauty!
Would love something like that. Not enough space for it though. Plus already have projects... Simon/~Flibster

My dad drove one of them back from Sicily with no brakes... We have a Morris 8 in the garage which needs some work doing on it.
