I remember that incident very well. Given that I'm partially sighted, I certainly appreciate utility companies/contractors being taken to task about unsafe work.

Hi,

My wife recently ordered the Super Pet Crittertrail X 21 X 12.7 X 18" cage for our two Gerbils, Bob and Bob (yes, they both have the same name, it makes things easier). The order number is 5857

This was delivered just a couple of weeks ago and the Gerbils have been very happy, they've loved running up and down the little pipe and they absolutely adore the wheel.

However today we noticed that they seem to like the cage a bit more than we thought.

Please see the four attached images.

As you can see, they've quite badly chewed the slide and it no longer fits in place. There is no way for them to reach the wheel any more. They are young gerbils and their teeth are nowhere near as strong as adults so I was somewhat perturbed to see the damage that they've done.

They've also chewed quite badly around the edge of the yellow tube as well, I'm now concerned that they'll get through the soft plastic and escape.

The product description (see fifth attached image) clearly states that this cage is suitable for Gerbils but I feel that is not the case. The plastic is obviously far too soft and they've destroyed it in just a couple of weeks.

Please advise what can be done about this as the product sold is clearly not fit for purpose.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Lots of love

Feek

Every rodent i've ever had has destroyed anything plastic / wood, i've always kept them in metal cages (hamsters) or glass tanks full of sawdust (gerbils).

The cage the other gerbils are in is made largely of plastic and they've scratched at it, but not damaged it at all. That one has been occupied since before Christmas.

I'd expect it to last longer than a fortnight.

I suppose it depends how aggressive they are or how much they feel the need to gnaw, mine would usually obliterate anything plastic within a week.

Well they were moved from the other cage to this one and they'd not damaged that one at all.

I really don't expect a £40 tank to have been destroyed in two weeks, it isn't fit for purpose, we'll see what the supplier says.

I feel like complaining to Blacks about their ANNOYING habit of saving the website images as compressed JPGs... THEY LOOK CRAP!

I have a right mind to write a written complaint to South Eastern after today.

I went to the cinema today to watch a couple of films with my mate, so looked up train times before I went.

The site said there was one at 6 past the hour, every hour.

Anyway, to cut it short, I got to the station and sat down (at 5:45ish).

20 minutes later... no train.
30 minutes later... no train.

By now its 6:15 and the train should have been there 9 minutes ago. So I phone up National Rail and they say there aren't any trains running at all?! WTF?!

There wasn't any signs or anything at the unmanned station, and the electric board thing just said "Welcome to Cuxton".
