I've had that problem too, can't remember exactly how I fixed it. I think I needed to enable or disable something in Winterboard.

i'll have a look around. there was 'lockinfo matte ui' in winterboard, but that just made the whole thing disappear :/
oh and before i forget (again) - does anybody else get 'failure to fetch' errors when loading cydia? happens to me every time it loads from a data source. |

Probably just a repository gone down. Happens quite frequently. If you get it all the time then you may have a duff source configured (check the list of sources in Cydia).

If you're getting it every time you fire up Cydia then I think it's more likely an incorrectly setup repository rather than a down repository. I was getting the same message when I setup a source incorrectly and despite removing it from the Cydia GUI the source remained so I needed to remove it manually.
The instructions I used are here. |

just updated TomTom (via iTunes) and its gone and forced me to agree to remove apps installed via Installous again!!
is there any way to stop this happening? its really annoying to have to get them all again, especially when some of them cause me issues in getting back! |

Legal TomTom or a hacked version? If the former, it's probably them trying to get revenge for the latter. That sort of thing often backfires.

hacked... but i thought it was all the same to itunes once the apps are in the directory.
its not tomtom's doing though, its itunes. happened the other day before i did anything with tomtom. damned iTunes - got rid of like 15 apps the other day :/ |

Well, I deliberately avoided using iTunes for anything that wasn't in the App Store. Sounds like I made the right choice. I'd suggest you junk AppSync and do it directly on the phone.
