Off topic, but is anyone else getting the thing that theres an extra page in this thread, and then when you click to go to the next page, it takes you to the top of the page you were just on, and there isn't a new page at all.

You've done a half before though right? When's the marathon, Autumn I assume, though the weather at the moment is pretty good running conditions to be fair (imho).

Yeah back in March. I then had to take a break from running to write a book, whilst doing normal work. Stupid short deadlines. I did a 10k the other week which was bloody tough. Had to walk a bit. The thought of doing a half marathon in 3 - 4 weeks scares the socks off me.

Surely you should be aiming for a time of at least under a day

I'd like to find an app that can track your progress and give you a fairly accurate read-out of how far you've run, does such a thing exist??

Runkeeper is all you need, there are also Nike+ and Adidas one and a couple of others all of which do something similar. If you are keen to do the Couch to 5k program there is a specific app for that too.

Runkeeper seems popular though and you can get the cut down (fully functional version) free of charge it interfaces with it's won website and gives you an excellent break down of splits, times and calories burnt.

Just done 2.77km in under 20 minutes. Very pleased, however I think my next target will be the same route in 15 minutes - I think it's doable!

Well done Jonny

Well my last 5km run didn't go too well.. was in the gym and aiming to get to the body pump class at 7.30 and started running about 7.10 so entered 20mins into the machine to do 3km.

Then halfway through thought sod it I'll be late for the class and went on to do the full 5km. Except forgot to up my time and the stupid machine started the cool down programme

So every min I had to whack the speed back up to 11.5km/h = VERY annoying!

I did 30mins of running anyway and 5.46km so would have been about the same time, apart from I was actually running the fastest I have so far - so bloody typical!!! GRR.

Anyway thats that... I am more concerned about the weather for the day a) because its going to be dangerous if muddy and b) I'll freeze my ass off as the pants I have only really fit me as actual pants :/ and won't go over my running shorts :/

Oh well!
