And you could (or will) just get the hard drive on it's own if you needed it - if they ever get round to opening a proper video marketplace over here anyway. Even with HDMI it's a lot to justify if you already have a 360.

4 Units:
Core Premium Elite Premium-Elite? I take it that's what people are getting at... if so, why do none of them have a beige faceplate, i.e. why are none of them a 'core' unit? |

Who's to say they're showing off SKU's? Could just be 3 premiums and an Elite. Maybe they're going to demonstrate something and it's easier to have 3 Premiums sitting there all set up and ready to go with a certain game running.

Thing is they know they've got to get into the casual market Nintendo have, ditto Sony. An SKU probably isnt the best way to do it but it could be. If it is an SKU I find it more likely they're using it to attract casual gamers rather than another 'elite' type device so soon after they've already gone there so to speak.
Another option could be something to do with the launch of IPTV later in the year. A quieter, set top box type device that could be much quieter. Possibly only with the ability to play arcade games, or not scale to 720p/1080p to keep the heat down. Who knows. Anything they have on stage will likely be purely for cosmetic reasons. Doesn't make sense to have the kit actually driving the display on stage - if for no other reason than heat from the lighting. [edit]I should probably say that I think a fourth SKU is unnecessary and overkill for a console, but other than a hoax/MS having fun with the intarweb, I dont see why else there would be 4 units up there. We'll know after 04:30 if anyone wants to stay up that late

Oh, and for anyone who wanted it, the keyboard add on has been priced and dated. $30, comes with a new headset and released September fourth for the states at least. Decent price, I was expecting more.

Please please please. I'll never need a PS3 if thats true. Don't think I'm really bothered about GT5. PGR + Forza + Dirt all hit the money for me. Final Fantasy was never my thing. I know it should be but it never grabbed me. I can't wait for the demos this week. Ace Combat 6 looks excellent. An Assassins Creed demo would be brilliant.

Oh yeah, I forgot about all the demos that are likely to be released. Please god let my 360 come back to me before I go back to work!

Still pretty keen on getting a Chatpad so the $30 price tag doesn't seem too bad. Should be £20'ish I reckon by the time it hits our shores.

Anti climax tbh Though doing a Nintendo makes sense for Halo 3. The Elite was dated for Europe - August 24th.
