Just remembered I rattled off a complain to Past Times the other week.

We stopped off at Braintree Freeport and had a wander around the Past Times there. We were hassled by two members of staff going 'Ecerything on this table is 10% off marked price today' - yes I can read the signs. Anyway, found something nice for a pressie and bought it, I was faffing with my walking stick at the counter and just hammered the numbers into the PIN machine, not checking the amount - very naughty but I was a bit hassled.

Anyway when we got home I realised they hadn't taken the 10% off, which wasn't a biggy as it would only have been 80p but I was just annoyed that they had been pressure selling it and then not bothered to do it.

So, rattled off a complaint suggesting they follow through with their special offers and got one back which said 'If you go back to the store with your receipt they will reimburse you with the discount, sorry for the distress this has caused you'.

Well, first off I'm not in the slightest bit distressed, I think this was totally the wrong word! And secondly, not likely to drive back to Essex for 80p. So I rattled another e mail saying they missed the point and I was commenting on their sales practices rather than complaining about 80p. No reply.

Just checked my bank account as we get paid this week and I usually transfer whatever I have left into savings/CC, logged in and found out that Orange had taken £450!

Called them and found out why. Before I went on hols I asked for my internet access to be disabled (note disabled and not terminated) and then reactivated when I got back.

Well they decided to turn it off during my holiday and then add it back on, totally ignoring the fact that I get unlimited net usage free on my tariff.

Had to call the bank for a Direct Debit Indemnity Claim, luckily I have some savings to top up my account otherwise whilst waiting for the £450 to be re-imbursed into my account (48hrs) I risk being overdrawn and charged.

So annoying!

It's a good thing you're on the ball and spotted that in time to do something about it.

They did something similar to me, but luckily I only had a small internet allowance anyway so it was only about £50 more than it should have been.

Sounds similar to what sky did to Emilee. They came to check the signal of her tele after she complained, found it was crap and decided to cancel all her services without asking.

She got the dish moved at her expense, got everything uncancelled (this was the next day). Even got the cost of moving the dish refunded as well as a refund on all her tv subscription costs to the date of the dish being moved

Then a month later her broadband stopped working. Seems they didn't uncancel that, and they wanted £60 to reinstate it. Wouldn't budge at all despite repeated calls etc.

So she's gone with orange

So another phonecall today from Orange. Obviously my account has been flagged because of yesterday's problem. The guy rang to tell me that yesterday's amount was for my May bill and my June bill (due to come out on 16th July) is due to be: £642.04!

So I cancelled the DD to stop this happening... and was advised that any internet calls for this period will be credited - until they sort out my unlimited tariff - apparently its not available at all now, so they have to speak to the technical team to get it re-instated and apparently this wasn't done yesterday when I was told it was!

Outrageous!

Uodate: she's cancelled Orange broadband after Sky rang her back and she eventually negotiated free reconnection, and 6 months of movies and music tv for 25p a month
