Which is rubbish if you can't guarantee to be in...

But as a result, anything lost in the post can be sorted within 3 days and the worst that happens is that it's left at the Post Office for you to pick up the same day or next morning.
Or alternately, get it sent to your place of work.

I live in a small village which means I get my post about 2 o'clock each day. My sorting office closes at 12 so if I'm not in, it will take an extra day.

As preorders quite often come on a Friday, that means Monday.

I know all my preorders with game, zavvi, tesco and play.com will pop through onto the letter box on Thursday whether I'm in or out.

And I also won't be fobbed off with a Euro knock off with "Not for sale in UK" on the back as I did with my last shopto order.

Personally I'd rather pay a couple of quid more, or even drive down to Tesco than use shopto again... Being late or slightly more expensive I can tolerate but dishonest and rude I can't.

/heh, I sound like I mean business!

You've had preorders from Play arrive early? I stopped using them when a preorder for Pro Evo Soccer 4 turned up a week late, despite preordering months in advance.

My recorded stuff comes early morning separate from standard mail. Doesn't it for everyone?

Never from ShopTo. Never had it later than Thursday. Sorting offices are open weekends too .

From Play? Really? Never has here, I've always waited til release at earliest, usually they arrive the next week. You won't be getting any pre-orders at all from Zavvi for now either .

It is stated on the site. I can see it annoying some people, but as I very seldom trade and just sell, keep or give games away it's never posed a problem.

Dishonest? I don't know what that's about but I've never had a problem, they even delayed all orders 10 minutes so that I could make one once. I couldn't knock them and I'd say their customer services is the best I've dealt with alongside Gameplay's.

Each to their own of course, but I wouldn't use Tesco online (awful customer services) or Play (awful) again unless it could be helped and Zavvi would need a wicked price error, same for HMV.
If I don't use ShopTo it will always be Gameplay, Game, Gamestation or Amazon.

Saying that, I can see why bad experiences with Customer Services can put you completely off a company.

Mine too He's an extremely nice postman, same with the guy that delivers parcels later in the day. Really good people, just like people are saying postmen 'used to be like'

Not if you live out in the sticks. Saying all this my postie did stick my last recorded letter through though he's never done it before

To be fair I haven't pre ordered from play for a while (maybe a year) but I haven't had a pre order after thursday from anyone other than gameplay for quite a while now; Zavvi, Tesco, Game.

The email and site note was sent out after my preorder was sent out. Also I really shouldn't have to look at the small print to see that the product I purchased wasn't legally allowed to be sold in the country I purchased it from. There should have been a bigger disclaimer and I'm sure if I took the case to trading standards they'd back me up.

I'd used shopto before and been happy and I'd also used their 2nd hand service when it was just being set up (helped them on the forums with it). I'm not even that annoyed they sold me an un-sellable copy. What annoys me is that when I brought it up with them and kindly asked for an exchange or refund they told me to "be more careful on the internet and sod off".

/why I oughta!
