My 3 mile Spartan Race was completed in a shade over 48 minutes. 16 minute miles you say? Infiltrate the mud pits, net climbs, tyre throwing, spear throwing, sand bag carrying, ice pit, forest runs, clay lake swim, tunnel crawl, tyre runs, 2 Gladiators with Pugil Sticks and to finish off, an electric barb-wire fence.
I'm chuffed to survive! Edinburgh Race next year, goal is sub 45. COME ON!

Only two races left this year but they're both in USA. There will be more in UK in 2012 than there was this year. I'm definitely doing Edinburgh next year and I may do London again or possibly the Yorkshire race. Depends on how this winter goes and how much of a tank I can make myself again.

Well I'm back, at least just been out for my first run following the HM disaster 3 weeks ago. Clocked up 3.17 miles around Essex (ah the joys of the A130 at 8pm) in 27:40. Both knees (especially the good one) weren't 100% by any means, but no serious pains although a little sore this am.
Slowly does it. Hoping to go out again Wed/Thurs and then in the light at the weekend. Probably going to stick to 5k runs until I can do that without knee pain, but if it's still there in a few weeks I'll hit the doc again, need some ITB exercises that don't require an adjustable bed, I mean come on, who has one of those kicking around accessible 3-4 times a day! |
