At least we've got them to acknowledge there is a congestion issue and have a promise of a fix... though I'll believe it when I see it.

Generally its been better in the evenings since I phoned them, though still a long way from the 5Mb/sec cap.

edit: Oh, and speedtest.net is crap. I've just succesfully downloaded from the Ubuntu archives at nearly 20Mb/sec speeds, and yet speedtest is telling me we've got a 3Mb connection.

UKFSN off peak so everyone is hammering the connection. Note that this is more line speed limited rather than crap throughput

From home, supposed to 4mb down with ntl, so with this it's not too bad. If I actually download a regular file I get the full speed.

My download speeds are great, I can get > 2Mb/s but browsing speed is absolutely horrific - it takes anything up to a minute for pages to start to load.

I thought at first it was DNS being slow but it isn't.

I've had that problem this morning too, and not just with the forum. Seems to be clearing now though.
