More broken and more permanently than I thought, I have managed to mistreat my body to such an extent that it has rebelled and I now also have diabetes, oh joy :/
Doctor has signed me off for a week and told me to sort my life out or die young, groovy. MB |

Oh ****. I'm really sorry to hear that Matt Is it one that can be controlled with your diet, or do you need insulin?

Aww crap *hugs* Really sorry to hear that
I hope it's the type that can be controlled with your diet rather than insulin.

Jesus! Thats ... damn dude. *manhugs* Is it the okish type of diabetes? Type 2 I think. Not that either is good but I was under the impression that one was less of a problem than the other.

Hopefully type 2, but while not wishing to use scare tactics (though feel free to use them on me as I need a kick up the rear for similar reasons) neither is good and both have nasty consequences if not adequately controlled. It can affect even silly things like cutting your own toenails. |

They are both as bad as each other to be honest, the answer to most of the questions is I don't know, I hope I'll be able to control it with diet changes, if I lose some weight apparently it might go away again, so there is hope, but having it lays me open to a lot of risk of other things.
Its my own fault, I've abused this body for long enough and its punishing me for it, I deserve it really, brought it on myself. I have to see a special 'you've been a **** and you need to sort your life out' nurse who I presume will have a big stick to beat me with and tell me I'm an idiot. The doctor was less than sensitive about it, hopefully she'll be a bit nicer. Oddly I have asked for testing for this recently and had a blood test in the morning before my arm blew up so I kinda knew it was going to happen but its still a bit of a shock. MB |

That's harsh of the doctor to be insensitive. I hope the nurse is much more sympathetic about it.
Insensitivity is never any help imo.

Sorry to hear that MB. Hopefully they will be easy changes to make and as you say help with some weight loss and next time you're checked it'll have disappeared.
