I've decided I'm not going to do it, to be on the safe side. It's just too much distance on legs that haven't been used much, which I could probably do under normal circumstances, but with the knee jip I don't think it would be sensible.

Definitely best to rest it Jonny. You're right, it's too far a distance to just suck it and see.
My knee has been aching a bit recently, despite still stretching/rolling every day. I can feel the tendon snapping over my knee when I bend it. However, I went out today just to see how it felt and managed 8 miles without a problem. Very odd! Going to ice & stretch it now and have an Osteo appointment at 3 so we'll see what she says

I did the 3k loop round one of the fields of Bushy yesterday, just trotting along at charity speed. It's a good distance because it's below that level where you ever do yourself any damage, but keeps the legs in check. Knee felt great afterwards and shins and ankles felt like they'd been run on, which is a good thing. I'm going to do two of those per week at lunchtime as part of my 'rehab' to get the strength back up, start the Parkrun again in a few weeks and it should all be ticketyboo again.
I think this is what I did right last year but did wrong this year. Last year I was doing regular gentle 2.5 and 3k loops with work colleagues at lunchtime which kept up the underlying strength. I've not done it this year, and I think it's led to a slight weakness that shows up when I've tried to push the distances up.

We only bloody won the match an destroyed the league!
Due to my willingness to take one for the team and coming 2nd in the 400mH(4th with 100m to go, stormed it home, Sanchez-style!)I had heavy legs and didn't run as fast as I could have in the 100m. I gained a relay spot and our changes were safe as houses. Last weekend, an even slower 100m time(dodgy timing), a dreadfully painful 800m(which sprinters should NOT do!), a comical 7.78m shot putt and a very surprising 5.84m Long Jump. My pb is 6.12m from 2005 and I haven't jumped since 2006, with 30 months doing nothing before Feb this year and jumping 5.15m in May, I am pleased! Bring on the winter, the spewing, the sand dunes, the frost and the dark mornings!

Well another 4 runs (5km each) and my foot seems okay at the moment, it ached a little this morning but hoping that's just the foot getting used to it. Going to have to keep going and hope it's just because I haven't done much for months. Am so slow!
Miserable day though, up 5:20am and didn't feel great so figured I'd feel better afterwards. Literally shivering despite it being 7-9C out and consumed about 3 mouthfuls of cereal Followed by feeling rubbish all morning. Think it's a combination of no proper sleep for two nights and not having a snack before breakfast. Normally have some soren loaf before bed if I'm out early. |

Yeouch BBx, too much running?!
Toenails are about the one thing I've never had a problem with, I keep them pretty short and spent a fortune trying different socks though. And ofc, I've only run > half marathon distance a handful of times, 18 miles was my max. |

Darn, what's wrong with it?
Mine wouldn't turn on yesterday but a soft reset sorted it thankfully! |
