I also saw Quantum of Solace.
I'd give it 7/10, not as good as Casino Royale but an entertaining 1hr 40mins or so
I did have good eye candy though so 2 of those points may be for Mr Craig

Quantum Of Solice

Starring
  • Daniel Craig
  • Olga Kurylenko
  • Mathieu Amalric
  • Dame Judi Dench
The latest Bond

6/10 Not one of the better Bonds although I did miss the first five to ten minutes of it due to a complete cockup over tickets. Decent enough and the action was quite good but ironically I think Daniel Craig was more convincing as Bond last time out.

IIRC U-571 caused the biggest backlash. Veterans and their familes were very vocal on the subject and I believe the studio had to add text to the end credits by way of an apology. One thing that always puzzled me about the movie was its title. Why call it U-571 when the actual 571 was never captured. The number "571" has no significance that I'm aware of and I fail to see how the movie would've suffered if they'd used the designation of a boat that actually had been captured.
Does U-505 sound less appealing than U-571, for example?
At least it's closer to the truth, had they gone with 505.

Quantum of solace.

Nothing biggie about it. No gadget, no one liners, no womanising and sexist behaviour we have come to know as Bond's trade mark. Damm not even the trade mark soundtrack played.

It is more or less a continuation of the last movie. Enjoyable, but nothing BOND about it. 6/10. Watching an over the top action movie from Jason stratham will probably be better. The only saving grace is the fact that it was free.

Isn't Quantum of solace supposed to be set 20 mins after Casino Royale ended?

BABY.

Awesome, Dramatic & very well shot.
Basically about a young Asian dude who gets in with the wrong crowd, The way the story unfolds although predictable is perfect.
