As long as it looks at least on a par with the Xbox NG then I'll be happy. I put 150 hours into that game and made it my bitch so the least the PS3 version can do is look as good as the Xbox version did. I'm mainly interested in playing the new levels and seeing how good they are.

Basically Insomnic were on their own thanks to the crappy devkits Sony gave them to work with and the complete lack of research into the architecture.

This basically applied to all games on the PS3 until Uncharted was nearing completion and Naughty Dog published their research findings for all to see. At this point the PS3 took a pretty big graphical leap for everyone as they had more to work with. The difference in having this research and not is perfectly demonstrated in the difference between Resistance 1 and 2, it's literally like night and day. I wouldn't be surprised if you could trick someone into believing they're on different consoles.

Apparently Guerilla Games and Naughty Dog have added 'considerably' to the devkits and programming techniques documentation for the PS3 in the last year, including things like heavy use of the Cells SPUs for preprocessing for the GPU. I reckon it'll be interesting to see what comes up in the next year.

I'm yet to play Shatter, currently got my teeth stuck into Shadow Complex and looking forward to my copy of Blue Dragon that i ordered for £7.50 new ages ago (while out of stock on the off chance they would get more back in) which has arrived.
If I enjoy Resistance 1 I'll definitely be getting Resistance 2
Quite enjoying working my way through the exclusives even the ones I'm not so keen on.

Just installing Batman \o/
Annoyingly just received a work related email I need to get on with quite soon......aargh!

The character models look miles better than the original title, so you will be happy. You should also consider the challenge DLC packs, i tried one of them (the one where you have to fight ever increasing difficulty demons), made it to 'the two sisters' and died miserably. Apparently i wasn't even 1/4 of the way through. I'm not sure if the two sisters were in the original game, as in sigma you only fight them in the storyline as Rachel who iirc was not available in the original.

EDIT: To put the sisters into perspective, they're very similar to Alma, there's just two of them.

Oooh, challenge packs sound interesting. Assuming they're not too expensive I'll look at picking them up, ta

Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma is released in a few weeks. October 2nd i believe. I hope it doesn't suffer from the 360's poor framerates in certain points.

Oooh, interesting, I need to read up and see what's different about it and whether it's worth getting.

Co-op? Real ninja's don't need help Seriously though, that could be a very interesting addition. Consider my interest piqued.

RE: the 360 Elite talk, it's been confirmed: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/xb...-to-199-pounds

Quote:
Microsoft will officially cut the price of the Xbox 360 Elite to £199.99 tomorrow, 28th August, and has confirmed the 60GB Pro model will be phased out.

The Xbox 360 Arcade will move to a higher £159.99 price than at present and will not be officially bundled with software as it has been recently.
One compromise:

The Elite will no longer ship with a bundled HDMI cable.
