I completely forgot about Age of Conan. When I was sent it to review I was really excited about seeing what it could do. And it was a bit crap

Not read any post but the O.P. to keep my comments clean

Your game of the year:
Left 4 Dead.
Single player gaming experience of the year:
GRID as I can't say Forza2 can I ?
With GRID it was just one of those games I picked up & played Solid until I had completed single player. This was Before my stat whoring infection as well so played Purely for sheer gaming pleasure.
Multiplayer gaming experience of the year:
Left4Dead.
Campaign removes my competitive Rage mode whilst gaming & gives me a whole new experince of relaxed online gaming.
Biggest Letdown of the year:
Bioshock
Looked fantastic but the learning curve Nubbed me off worse than any other game, Period.
Surprise of the year:
The lack of Longevity in COD4.
Game or gaming innovation you're most excited about for 2009:
Game = Forza3.
Most looking forward to more Co-Op.
Xbox Live Arcade game of the year:
PSN game of the year: N/A

Your game of the year:

Rockband. No competiton, I will still be playing this in 3 years time.

Single player gaming experience of the year:

Rockband gets booted up everyday to get that bit further and better

Multiplayer gaming experience of the year:

COD4

Biggest Letdown of the year:

Too many to choose one, SW TFU (just ****, im a huge SW fan with just about every novel before and after the films and this game crapped on them all from a great height. Not only that is was worse than a 8 year old jedi academy game)

Gears of Bore 2. Dull, nothing new and the old wasn't that hard of interesting. Oh and the MP is broken but no one wants to make an issue out of it because it's not fashionable yet to diss gears. Plus xbox fanboys shy away from saying it is indeed crap because its an xbox exclusive.

Pes 09. Too poor to even spend time typing about.

GHWT poor charting dull game.

Surprise of the year:

Fifa 09, I love it.

Game or gaming innovation you're most excited about for 2009:

Rockband 3

Xbox Live Arcade game of the year:

Castle crashers

PSN game of the year:

It has games?

I'm not an Xbox fanboy and I love Gears of War 2 Danny, in fact, it's my game of the year. I've also played a few games of multiplayer and never noticed any problems when playing Guardian or Horde modes.

Your game of the year:
GT5 Prologue - I've had more game time from this glorified demo that I have from any other game in 2008.

Single player gaming experience of the year:
COD4 - Came rather late to COD4 but one of the few games that has kept me interested from start to finish.

Multiplayer gaming experience of the year:
None - Hardly ever play on line as people annoy the crap outta me. Played GT5 for about 10 mins before I got fed up with people cheating.

Biggest Letdown of the year:
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Was expecting so much and was bored ****less within 30 minutes. Only plus side was that I only lost £5 selling it on.

Surprise of the year:
Little Big Planet - I didn't think that a platform game would ever grab my attention again. Bloody love it.

Game or gaming innovation you're most excited about for 2009:
GT5 - PLEASE SONY DON'T MAKE ME WAIT ANY LONGER! I COULDN'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THE GT5 TV ****; JUST RELEASE THE ****ING GAME!!!!

I thought Mass Effect was an end of 2007'ish release? Can't remember. Anyhow here's mine!

Your game of the year: Gears of War 2 (yeah baby!)
Single player gaming experience of the year: Fable 2
Multiplayer gaming experience of the year: Never played any multi
Biggest Letdown of the year: GTAIV
Surprise of the year: Fable 2
Game or gaming innovation you're most excited about for 2009: Unreal tech for Gears 3!
Xbox Live Arcade game of the year: Didn't play any
PSN game of the year: Wat?

Gears 2 expanded on a brilliant game even further. Bigger, vast levels, more baddies en masse and just bigger everything. I loved it despite the latter stages getting too predictable. The Gears backstory has always intrigued me and it even made me purchase the superb Aspho Fields eBook!

Fable 2 was an experience and a half. Despite the fact that it was way too easy, I had an enjoyable time playing it right to the end. I am saddened by the fact that I now have a bugged wife who has gone AWOL, so I cannot finish the final Retribution quest but I guess it is to be expected by a complicated title. Great visuals, audio and the ability to moon children just made the game even more fun, and unique.

GTAIV whilst superb to play, was a let down in the pathetic variety (if any) of missions in-game. They were just too plain and simplistic compared to previous GTA's and Saints Rows. It was a shame and made replayability almost non-existent for what is an otherwise very good title.
