The metal stuff in the games gets on my tits, more often that not they are the hardest songs to crack but because I hate that music it becomes a chore.
That said they couldn't have picked worse guitar and drum tracks for oasis. The same for Blur, beetlebum wtf. I prefer to play stuff I can sing along to myself while I play. Another problem is it's very american biased. The GH5 doesn't interest me in the slightest, I've WT this year and it's so poor I can't even be bothered to finish career with about 20 songs to go. I've now invested too much money in RB to even consider GH5. I still cannot believe both games are missing out on a huge market, pop. If harmonix got their fingers out they could whack out a disc called pop band and get chart stuff added every week and clean the **** up.

Oh... I'm so surprised.
You also thought Guitar Hero 2 had a solid track listing. If half the MP3's on your CD we listened to were on Rock Band it would be much better. Quote:
As you said, they pick rubbish tracks from great acts. For Muse they could have: Bliss, Plug-In Baby, Stockhold Syndrome, Muscle Museum, Citizen Erased, New Born and Dead Star. For Oasis they could have: Wonderwall, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Champagne Supernova, Slide Away, Live Forever and Don't Look Back in Anger. For Blur they could have: Parklife, Song 2, Country House, Girls & Boys and Charmless Man. For Offspring they could have: TDammit, I changed again, Million Miles Away, Americana, Amazed, Self Esteem, I choose, Bad Habit, Dirty Magic, Genocide, Mota, Lightning Rod, Staring at the Sun, Come out Swinging, Conspiracy of One, Special Delivery, Huck It and Beheaded. For The Hives they could have: Walk Idiot Walk, Supply and Demand, Tick Tick Boom, B is for Brutus, Love in Plaster and Die Alright! I could go on and on. They continually pick songs from the good artists that are more often than not, not their best songs. I was amazed to see Gone Away as DLC though. Last edited by NokkonWud; 04-12-2008 at 23:39. |

But good ones, no?
Well, as Forza is great (and PGR as you mentioned it, which is brilliant) I don't see your point. Why does it sound 'dodgy'? It could be brilliant. You say without actually knowing anything about it, any screen shots or videos. Considering Bizarre usually only release very good games I don't see your view. |

Depends, the sequels could be good, could be bad, either way they were all predictable, which is all I said.
I'm really not sure how they plan on mixing a serious racing game with a cartoony weapons based racer. Serious racer with weapons? Fun racer with serious cars? I can't see how a blend of the two will work really. I say that about Bond on the basis that nearly all film licenses are quickly knocked out cash in games. Goldeneye was good, then everyone wanted a piece of the Bond pie and they've virtually all been crap since (WINE, AUF, NF etc. etc.). Why is this one any more likely to buck the trend, considering Activision are hardly at the height of innovative and redefining gaming experiences?

I would hazard a guess that it's customizable racing. Possibly something similar to what Banjo Kazooie has done.
The bond game isn't a movie spin-off, so they obviously feel they can do something very good with it. Also, Quantum of Solace is apparently pretty good. As for Activision not being the most innovative for gaming experiences, Call of Duty 4 has monstered awards since its release, as did the Guitar Hero games before them, the Interstate games, the Tony Hawks games, Quake series.. Activision aren't a bad publisher. They don't develop the games. |

Quantum of Solace is indeed surprisingly good fun, I'm impressed.

I'm at a loss as to what random awards have to with games being innovative though. Just because Sequel Game 23 was good, doesn't mean it was innovative.

If Sequel Game 23 decides to break away from the mold and pursue a new era of focus then that in itself is innovative, a la COD4 not being WW1/WW2 in setting.

First Tony Hawks game = Innovative. First CoD game won all sorts of awards for it's cinematography and sound = innovative. Quake = innovative. My point was that Activision have been innovative many times over their history, so there is nothing saying that they won't be with these games. |
