I hope this isn't the start of a new breed of revival with classic sitcoms. Imagine things like The Young Ones being redone... doesn't bear thinking about.

If that ever happened I would drive down to the BBC and forcebly take their possessions to the value of my TV licence over the years. While inviting everyone I know to do the same.

I'm not surprised, originality is a rareity these days. The film industry is getting wose (it wasn't always this bad, was it?) All we seem to be doing is bloody Batman or Spiderman films. More Terminator films, rebooting Star Trek. Where's the fresh concepts? Where's the fresh ideas that Hollywood's creative industry is supposed to be coming up with? It seems they're all too busy lazing around pools and wiping their arses with $50 bills, and when it's time to do another film they just think, what cash cow still has some milk? Have we done a film about Catwoman recently? No? Great, start a triology.
There's a whole series of X-Men movies on the horizon too apparently, going into the origins of the main characters. Why? Why does that justify entire films, when that sort of info can just film a Wiki article and leave it at that. Remakes of old classics is even worse. Leave them alone, they're classics by definition. Writes/producers should respect them, let them be inspired by them, but not just think "I'll do a remake" knowing the title and subject matter will bring people in whether or not the film turns out to a complete load of toss - which it normally is, tainting the original forever.

Gah, bloody x-men. The start of the last one with the sentinel "simulation" was awesome. Break out the mutants and lets kick ass. So far they have had a few spats, I'd like to see things getting really serious. Going back into the past is a cop out as that was typically covered as small side scenes. We have Gambit and a few others that need to come in as well. |

What the hell?!!!...
Instead of remaking them - show the originals again. This goes double to the bloody movie industry - remaking Robocop. **** OFF!

Oh god....They're even starting to remake films that are less than 20 years old.
It really sounds like they're going to be doing a remake of.... Scream! Sorry, not remake... reboot. WHY!?! The Scream trilogy has no need to be restarted and indeed, as the story was buttoned up at the end of the third, it's going not going to be an easy one either.
