Kari doesn't drink much tea (contrasting my several cups a day habit) but is rather partial to "Green tea with Roasted Brown Rice". I can't stand it, but she finds it incredibly calming.
Recently I've been enjoying Celestial Seasoning's "sleepytime" tea, which is a peppermint, chamomile, lemongrass, tilia flowers, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn berries and rosebuds blend. Primarily flavours are the first two. It's a wonderful evening drink

I've gone hardcore and just ordered my first lot of Matcha, I've been drinking a lot of Jasmine Phoenix Eye at work, its very similar to the Jasmine tea which you get offered after Chinese food, comes in little rolled pellets which expand gradually as they steep, I highly recomend it and its not too expensive either

If you go to china town there are lots of specialist shops selling all sorts of wonderful teas. You can get the flower tea from pingpong actually.

I have quite a variety of China teas Will and I really enjoy them (including a number of flower styles like the ones at PingPong and DimT) but I'm very interested in Matcha because the leaves are ground rather than steeped and then consumed rather than thrown away the theraputic advantages increase as to the metabolic effects and the antioxidant content. Matcha isn't cheap but I've started off with a less expensive brand rather than the top flight stuff. Now I need convince Aitch to put on a Kimono and do the Tea Ceramony for me

Interesting - I shall look into it. I'm a little hooked on a black and green tea blend that I was offered. It's from "la maison du the" in Paris. http://www.mariagefreres.com/
The other shop I get it from is here: http://www.admirable-tea-boutique.co..._the_thes.html Here's the selection they have - it's just so so good!

PG Tips. I'm serious. I'm not a tea person, but I've drank plenty (to try them) and I can't shift from PG when I do occasionally fancy a cuppa.

I find the thought of all the different varieties fascinating but I still don't get tea. Dried leaves boiled in water.

I'm not a big fan of green tea, it's a bit peely-wally for me.

I very rarely drink tea at home (just cba really), but drink it more often at my parents (if there was a tea drip, they'd have it). Only PG, but still. I've tried a few other varieties, but never anything oriental.
PS - drinking really hot tea is bad for you. Fact. |
