Hmm I think I am starting to watch it too closely and read too much into it! I noticed a bit of dialogue which is in both ep4 and repeated (but seen from another view pioint) in ep5. The dialogue is worded slightly differently and the intonation is very different. I can't decide if it is just a goof or if it is meant to be a clue!

My theory after watching the first 2-3.
Spoiler? The survivors are the ancestors of the others. They'll all get back to the island at some point while it's in the past. I admit this still leaves about 23 billion questions unanswered tho :s Last edited by jmc41; 16-02-2009 at 08:02. Reason: My ability to hide text is slightly lacking. |

So then, who's stuck with it?

I'm still there. Can't believe Sunday's ending... quite a way to disprove your own theory!

Indeed! I do feel they've probably answered a question with it though:
Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! They're following a pre-determined, pre-destined path it seems, with their actions in the past being required, something they have to do. Still dont really understand why, but I hope that answer comes from Daniels mother (she knew what was going to happen... why did she send him back?) End Spoiler Alert!

Not sure if I need spoilers seeing as it's already been aired, but I'll stick them in anyway.
Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! Having a bit of difficulty following the shows logic (as one character says one thing is possible, then another says it isn't). Faraday wanted to basically change history by blowing up the hydrogen bomb so the plane wouldn't crash. He obviously failed. Does that then mean that it would never have been possible for him, or anybody, to blow up the bomb? Could Jack and Kate theoretically blow it up or, seeing as their plane did crash on the island, would they never be able to do it? End Spoiler Alert!

Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read!
I imagine the question of Kate/Jack detonating the bomb will come up soon, but whatever happens is supposed to happen I reckon. Resistance is futile! End Spoiler Alert!
