Nice effect there with the flower. Not sure about the second shot though - not from a photography POV, but rather that it's the sort of thing that leads to Chucky-style nightmares.

They look uber cool, when you say painting what are you doing one flash? Have you thought about different types of lights moving across a subject, something with a strange wavelength like tube lighting mixed with a 100w bulb? Could give some realld odd/strange but yet interesting pictures

Or just coloured lights as well i guess These kind of photos make me want to buy a camera but then i realise that i really shouldn't be spending money like that just yet for this, however much i want to...
