They do haggis? Cool! Most of my flights are early morning flights and I don't think I could have haggis for brekkie but I'll definitely head up there for lunch.

Why have they started insisting on people taking laptops out of bags? The place ran so much smoother when you could leave them in.

Who could possibly forget about the cheesecake.

I thought they'd been doing the laptop inspections for years. I've had to take mine out of its bag several times (usually on trips to/from the US).

No, when T5 opened you had to leave your laptops in your bag, it's only in the last few months that you've had to take them out.

T1 I've always had to taken the laptop out and T3 has switched a few times too - last time I went through the laptop stayed in the bag. Can't remember T2 or T4 because I fly from there so infrequently.

Not sure why but I agree, it was so much easier before.

Not that it concerns me at the moment - our travel department appear to have changed their minds again and have switched us back from BA to KLM, so we're flying through Schiphol - I wish they'd make up their minds
Must be 3p cheaper with KLM or something.

You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

It's because of all the other stuff in a laptop bag. Charger with its cord, the USB mouse, headphones, webcam, spare battery, car charger, generally a phone and its charger as well. All that stuff obscures the image of the actual laptop on the x-ray. And considering a laptop is 3 of the 4 required components of an IED all in itself, anything obscuring the view makes it that much harder to see if there's explosives in there....

Yeah, I know that but it's only recently that they've required you to take your laptop out. When Terminal 5 opened they made a big song and dance about how their swish new machines didn't need the laptop in a separate tray and infact they made a big point of saying that laptops must be kept in your bag.

A few months back thought they changed and now laptops must be in a separate tray.
