Just get the wallet out. It's an expensive cut.

General rule of thumb is 4oz of the bone and 6oz on the bone. So about 1kilo per 8 people.

Aye i was looking at fillet in my local butchers last Wednesday, nearly fainted when i saw the price per kilo but my god it looked tasty. You've also got me very interested in upgrading my (currently rubbish) knife and pan set from that thread on ocuk, already ordered an Anolon skillet. There's a massive John Lewis near me which had the global set out on display, gonna head down there at the weekend and have a look around and see what else there is, hopefully get a feel for some too.

Looks like this is going to turn into a very expensive hobby...

Yeah it can. I just buy things as and when I can. Don't have to pay rent next pay day. So hopping to get a knife and pan f I can stop myself spending it on crap.
