oo great. this saves me making a thread!
my mum was on about getting a new tv (and sky HD) in January. how common is FreeSat HD nowadays? i've not looked at any TVs in a long time but if we're looking to go HD properly, might as well look at the freesat HD options i guess :/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX...9287249&sr=1-4 looks pretty good hows freesat HD work btw? is it worth bothering with if you've got sky as it obviously needs a dish, and we'd only have the sky dish? however... just found this; http://www.cheap-lcd-tv.co.uk/37_LG_...w_LCD_TV_149_d seems like a ridiculously cheap deal Last edited by Joe 90; 27-11-2009 at 03:02. |

The LG is cheap because it has input lag issues and is a 2008 screen.
http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-t...08-models.html It is actually the same screen as the 37LG5000 which you should find more info on. http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-t...-37lg5000.html Personally I wouldn't pay £380 on a 2008 screen. |

I've heard a few bad reviews on the LG screens too. I'm waiting for everyone to bring out their LED backlit models as grey blacks on TV is a real pet hate.

Modern LG screens are actually pretty good, especially the HD ones - I have a 2009 model one, full 1080 and 3 HDMI inputs as well as RGB inputs, and I think SPW would agree it's pretty damn good. Even colour balance, no patchy or dark areas, black contrast ratio is good.
Other TVs worth looking at are Samsung and Panasonic. Avoid Sony as they're way over priced.
