Been in touch with a podiatrist near where we live and the price for a partial avulsion is £180
I've checked them out with the professional body and they're good. They have been in business in the area for over 30 years and have a good name. They have a high success rate and will perform the procedure again for free if there is any regrowth after having it done the first time. I'm quite confident I'm in safe hands. Gonna book it for as soon as I get home as the guy said I needed to rest for a week afterwards and it would take three weeks before I was back to 'normal'. I should just about be fine when it's time to go back to work.

What procedure are you looking at, Stan? I've had a Zadeks on my big toe and it wasn't 100% successful in that part of it did grow back in the shape of two little horns a while after. That frustrated me simply because it wasn't perfect and so I had the procedure repeated a number of years later.
Here's my foot when we returned home after the operation. I have pictures with the bandage off but they've been posted before and are not pretty! I can go into more detail about the procedure I had done if you're interested, sorry I didn't spot this thread before.

That's rather a large bandage there Mr Feek
Not 100% sure which procedure as I haven't actually seen the podiatrist yet but, it's only one side of the nail that's ingrowing so it'll probably be a straightforward partial nail avulsion i.e. cutting away the side portion of the nail that is growing into the flesh.
