Desmo is right, it's slightly remarkable that this hadn't been confirmed before now although it's always seemed pretty obvious that Mr Martin was gay. I've always found it amazing that some people were shocked when George Michael came out, I can't quite believe it was ever in question but maybe that's with the benefit of hindsight.

I fail to see how this man's sexual preference is in any way significant to ....... well, anything

I find it incredible that, in 2010, the fact that a celebrity prefers to play hide the sausage with someone of the same gender is considered newsworthy and "shocking" enough to merit discussion.
