Okey dokey another little update
On Sunday I ran Ashby 20miles. 2 x 10mile circuits, hills, dead squirrels, men pooing and cow smells. Completed it in 3 hours 17 mins and 35 secs which, considering my longest run to date before that was 18.5 miles in the same time Was a great road race... with plenty of water stations where you could also get gels, sweeties and chocolate to keep you going. My supporters were also great, especially the lead cheerleader shouting encouraging words such as "Hurry up I'm cold", "I can run faster than you going backwards!" "Your dad called and Will says Hi". It snowed driving to the race but soon turned light rain and then sun. Prior to that I did the Brighton Half Marathon in February and PBed my Half Marathon time which was 2hr and 14secs!!! (Need to get it sub 2 hours!!!). So... I had the monday off to recover and we went to meet the CEO of the charity that I am running for IT4CH. We also went to the Whittington Hospital where we visited some of the kids who benefit from the Marathon fundraising. The CEO of the charity is an amazing woman. She is 75 (!!!) and started up the charity 14 years ago when her daughter was ill and couldn't continue her schooling in the hospital. She runs the charity totally on her own and off her own back - amazing! She truly was an inspiration it was a great day meeting her and the teachers and kids in the hospital. To date I have raised £927.40 towards my goal of £1,500 - still a long way to go! On this date next month I would have completed the Marathon! Aptly my Marathon registration pack arrived today: The next start line I will be wearing my race number: 41166 BB x |

Another little update....
I have so far reached £1,000 of my Marathon fundraising target and I have £500 to go.... as a final push before Marathon day, William has very kindly offered his body to the cause.... If I can smash the £500 before 22nd April he will wax his chest!!!! An example of the extent of the pain that he will be suffering is below: There of course will be pics!!! So if you fancy donating some moola to a very worthy cause please click on the link below: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/mlpe...onMarathon2012 Many thanks in advance and big thanks to those who have already sponsored BB x |
