As Leprousdust suggested, if he really wants a new one, he could do a lot worse than Dell. They're making bloody good laptops just now - good vfm.

Got to agree with the refurb option as well. I got my laptop from the outlet shop Daz posted, I only got 1 year warranty but I suspect that's standard for home use (or I missed something).
