Haven't had chance to have a play yet though. Imaging the disk so if I stuff it up I know I can recover. Looks like I'll just about get the whole 160GB disk onto a single DVD-R DL. Linux Live CD + dd + bzip2 for the geekery. Dunno if there's a better option (and don't you dare say Norton Ghost

)

Nice work. I'm on the blag at work because we're about to move our rack of terminal servers onto a big blade system. Sadly, the ones that we're currently using (G4 DL380s I think) will all go to DR.

I might get my hands on a G3 DL380 which I'll populate with as many processors and as much RAM as I can but it won't compare as it's old, Compaq and cream coloured, not new, HP and black.

Damn you Daz!

Makes my 1U dual P3 Xeon box look a bit pedestrian, even though I do have 2Gb RAM the same as you and a pair of 146Gb u320 drives

I wish I worked somewhere that would let me blag such servers.

It's not free. Actually, I used Ghost 2003 in the past for systems (including the old D600). Been so long that I can't remember how I set it all up though (it was done with a bootable image so shove the CD in and it'll boot and restore). Suppose I could give it another go but I think I'd need to back up over the network which from DOS is nasty.

Shame about the lack of overclocking options though.

And extra power drinkage! He actually offered me Quad's but I turned him down - these'll be much friendlier on the juice when idle

And I use the same for imaging mark, expect I pipe it through gzip just because it's force of habit
