Stratos.

I had the pleasure of spending the day thrashing one with it's owner about 8 months ago and completely wore out a set - canvas was viewable on the rears.

However, the tyres are pretty specific. Michelin TB15 tarmac rally tyres. Effectively semi slicks.

Mine is still about 2 years away form needing tyres. Can barely drive at the moment though so workign on a car is not possible.

Brand spanking new set of Good Year Wrangler AT's for the Blazer and an oil change was just a hair over $300. P235/75R15's. But I do remember trying to find tyres for the Saab 900 we had in California. They were 390mm diameter. Only one brand, one model, one size available. $266 a tyre PLUS mounting and balancing. And of course since they were an odd size and on aluminium rims, the mounting was $60 a tyre.

Oh, and the warranty on them? There wasn't one. The minute they went on the car, I was on my own with them.

Oh, and just in case anyone feels put out buying tyres, I'll remind you of my Jeep. $1,750 for the complete set. Mind you, that was for all 5 of them...
