thats what I was thinking, also so much stuff in the house is chrome/silver etc it may be a better idea

gold just has that immediate visual impact though

why do women always pick the more expensive option

It doesn't matter where they come from, as long as they're pretty. Tesco & M&S always have some absolutely lovely bunches, as do Next, Morissons, Asda etc. A woman who snubs you because of where you bought the flowers from needs a kick in the ass. And no boys, that doesn't mean that £2.99 carnations from a garage are acceptable.... £3.99 lillies from Tesco however.... I'm another girl who's not arsed about red roses... or really roses in general. I'd much rather have a beautiful mixed bunch

Hope it works out for you Divine!

P.S. Rotty what a fantastic idea! I'm always sad when I have to chuck a bunch of flowers away. That's something really special that she can keep forever

i *think* asda flowers are delivered by royal mail - so no worries about your man in a lime green uniform!
(and if she cares about that anyway - eurgh)

I've always thought that the impact of flowers and chocolates at times and on days other than Valentines Day was better, it just seems to me that if you have to be reminded by a commercial event than thats going to be recognised by the recipient but maybe I'm just a miserable old git.

I think you're right - we have boxes of flowers arrive at work for residents on their birthdays and its always royal mail or one of the delivery services. They all seem to be in similar type boxes too so there shouldn't be a worry over a lime green box instead

I'm not a huge rose fan - if someone wants to buy them for me, hey great, but its just a bit too "formal" a type flower (if you know what I mean).

I don't get flowers very often at all, not even on v day necessarily. Most of the time if I have flowers, I'll have got them for myself from the £5 section at tesco.
The first time I ever got flowers was before I was going out with Mic. He sent them to my work at the time (woolies) unfortunately I was home sick so a friend had to bring them round after her shift - not quite the result he was after

You're not miserable Matt - I may be a hopeful romantic but in a way I agree. If I only got flowers on v day then, tbh I'd probably get fed up with them. In Divines case, as he isn't actually seeing the girl yet then flowers could be good and vday gives him an excuse without him looking too soppy

I think they look lovely
I'd say it's the sentiment that counts rather than the price or where they came from, and I'd be extremely pleased to have them from anyone.

Go for it

Personally if I was bought flowers I wouldn't care where they came from or how they were delivered. I'd find it amusing if they came in as Asda van

I'm easily pleased though, my favourite flowers are daffodils anyway so they cost about a quid from a roadside place

Rotty, wow you're missis is a lucky lady, I hope she knows this I'd be over the moon if I got a rose dipped in anything (except poo!!) Given the choice though I'd go for the platinum as it will catch the light better imo.

There's not much nicer than a bunch of flowers arriving. Just to know someone was thinking of me enough to make the effort makes me tres happy!
