It'll be my blue Scottish skin that's attracting them then

I'm sure I could provide the occasional G&T in exchange for your mosquito swatting services!

I've not heard about them being attracted to blue, but I have read in a few places that they're attracted to Rhesus negative blood - like mine!

They're not too bad in Cyprus, but they're around, especially when you go out to dinner. I normally get stung on my toes only place I don't have hair, though when I spent over 3 months in Cyprus over the summer went nice and brown and my skin seemed to be tougher for them... That and eating lots of garlic - they don't like garlic!

Good point well made - but they seem to keep away from there?

That's because you're always laughing like a hippo and thus your head doesn't stay still long enough for them to settle

This is what i came in to say. Not just garlic though there are plenty of food stuffs that make you sweat or ommit an aroma that mozzys don't like. Best thing always to do is ask the locals, But ask a few of them so that you know you are getting the best answer
You are probably covered in deodarant & after shave hoping to pull & sweating real ale & scotch, I bet you smell like a Banquet to a Mozzy

One of the best repellants i've found is citronelle (in french). The plant has long bladed leaves that smell very much like lemons..... So you just rub some of the leaves on your arms/legs and your sorted....

Btw not sure if thats the right name in the uk, but thats the name of the plant in Mauritius.
