I thought it'd be about the car too. Pheebs? You? Play golf. I certainly didn't see that one coming. So much for the stereotype (in a good way).

Why did I know you were going to say that? I'm sure some accommodation could be made (on their part). |

Burble - you can't be too bad if you used to pot around on the driving range/a nine holer?
It's blooming putting that gets me. I'm constantly doing a Happy Gilmore "juuuuust taaaaaap it in....... tap tap taaaaaaaparooo!" Grrr to putting (which inevitably means I am useless at crazy golf!) Burble and Belmit - I demand a game off you boys then! It will be fun! And don't say no! Picky enjoys golf but is kinda conscious he doesn't do that brilliantly (I think he would after practice! Afterall it's just physics really - right up his street!) Quote:
Golf is COOOOOOOOOOOL! The attire isn't great, but I currently don't play anywhere posh enough to worry about that (though Pa did say he thought I was a gazillion times better than he anticipated - last time I played I was still off with my aim - and that I would be able to go on a proper one again soon no worries ) Quote:
I R a bit sad there are no keen keen players though Booooooooo! |

I'm worse than 'not that bad' plus it's been about 8 years since I last swung a golf bat but I'd be up for a round
Is it a coincidence that it's about 8 years since I played golf, but I've been driving a VW Golf for about the same length of time? |

I wouldn't play it if I was any good, that's no fun! Some of the funniest days I've had were when me and my two mates used to do 9 holes at our local club, because we were all as ****e as each other. One memorable occasion on the first hole; my mate Leon missed the ball completely on his first go, then clipped it on his second ('Good enough boys!), then I sliced mine almost at a right angle onto the 9th hole. The last guy hooked it into the shubbery directly on the left of the hole. Good times!

I'm a bit like Burble. I used to play the odd round now and then but haven't played in years. I wouldn't mind giving it another bash sometime. I'm pretty useless - I have a horrendous slice off the tee so I'd need to have a couple of lessons off a pro first.
Maybe when I get my car, I'll fetch my old, cheapo clubs from Shetland and have a bash (can you actually fit golf clubs in the boot of a MKII MR2?).

I love golf, and used to play quite often a few years ago, but I think I've only been the driving range once in about 5 years (and strangely enough was hitting the ball straighter and further than ever). It's definitely something I'm looking to get back into now the weather is improving again.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |

Haven't played much golf but my mate keeps telling me we'll go to the driving range sometime I just need to get round to going
Crazy golf on the other hand is ace! Kitten was most unimpressed when I suggested it but really enjoyed.
