OK - in that case, since I'll only be planning a couple of days in advance how about looking for a day that might have decent weather much nearer the time. At the very least I'll have the mobile with me (haven't decided whether I want to lug the laptop or not yet).

Sounds good to me

As to laptop if you dont want to bring it up i will have by midweek 11gb in CF card storage and not likely to use all those in one day at any stage. So if you need to use one and burn the contents to DVD on my desktop it wouldn't be an issue, saves you lugging the laptop up.

Thanks for the offer but unfortunately I don't have a DSLR so I use SD. Fortunately I have about 24GB, so I wouldn't be bringing the laptop for that.

No worries on the CF card front then and hopefully we get decent weather around that time for the Edinburgh meet and any tog trip
