My Mum said that the window was open a crack (double glazed so shut on the latch) god knows how the pressed button on the handle and pulled handle to open it. :/
They haven't got alarm but I'm sure they'll invest in one now. Not sure if they'll come back. doubt they'll come back for 40inch progecter telly and thats about all that was left apart from dvd player and sky box. I think it was just lucky rob for druggies. Hopefully they'll have left finger prints. |

Don't think Simon would be able to protect them. I'm on my own tonight as Faysh is working but luckily he is at Banbury station so atleast he's just down the road. |

Sometimes it's best for them to sleep through it. One of my friends took on a couple of thieves (kids) and nearly killed one (I'm not exaggerating) and seriously injured the other (broken leg). He was done for excessive use of force and the kids didn't get a sodding thing - well I think they had to do community service or something like that, one was 15 the other 17. It's almost better to let them get away with it :/
Sorry ot hear that - hopefully the insurance will cover their losses.

Just spoke to my Mum again and they took.
Simon's bag with keys, psp and creative zen in it. Xbox, brand new laptop, brand new ipod, mobile phone, and another laptop i think. They're waiting for forensic people and locks to be changed. Will thats so crap why shouldn't people defend themselves? doesn't matter how old the kids were as they still could have badly hurt or killed your friend. |

Its a horrible feeling We were burgled while we were in bed about 9 years ago. Sophie was asleep in her own room and we didn't hear a thing, they came right into the house too Doesnt bear thinking about really, Sophie could have been gone and we wouldnt have known a thing.
I had panic attacks at night for a while, poor Mike would get up with me at 4am to check all the locks etc night after night. We had an alarm fitted which I will admit I never use. If it went off when I was in the house I think I'd have a heart attack. There's a box on the front of the house, given the choice of a two houses, one with a box it's a bit of a no brainer which they'll go for I'd have thought. It's really really not worth taking them on though. Little bastards.

Bastards.
My Gran and Grandad were burgled (when they were still alive) and its not just the expensive things they take, its the invasion of personal space, the thought that someone else has been in your house, without your permission and been through your things. They didnt take much of monetary value, more sentimental things that had been in the family for decades. The house I live in now, when it was being converted into the main house and the flats its divided up into, the builders got into a dispute over not being paid (they had stuffed up on a few jobs and were sacked) the new kitchen appliances that had just been fitted in all the kitchens suddenly disappeared one night. It couldnt be proven, but we're pretty sure it was the builders who came to collect their "unpaid bill" |

That's bad news Lom I hope your folks aren't too traumatised by the experience.
I was burgled once. I heard the sound of change rattiling whilst half asleep and assumed it was my brother who I shared the flat with. I then woke up, realising my brother was staying at my folk's that night (was Xmas night). I got up for a look and found the front door open (I hadn't locked it in case my brother changed his mind - he's crap with keys when he's pished). I ran to the living room and phoned the polis and while I was doing that, I heard a movement from the lobby. I ran out and just saw him disappear out the door - unfortunately, I couldn't give chase as I was bollock naked. The bastard had been in my brother's room while I was on the phone to OB. When I went through to put some clothes on for the arrival of plod, I found my trouser pockets empty - he had been rifling my pockets a couple of feet away from me when I was sleeping That kinda unnerved me a bit.
