I'm aware of equally if not more tragic happenings in this world for something like this to be hard for me to swallow.

What I find interesting is how people who have contradicting beliefs and morales can coexist in the same culture. I suppose sometimes they don't, and this is why we get 'shocking' stories such as the OP.

I'm not a parent. That shouldn't allow you to assume I can't appreciate your perspective. Though it would be hard for me to convince you otherwise.
