For those who aren't sure and didn't see Panorama last night, Obama isn't particularly religious, but chose Christianity. There's no way a non-Christian would get elected in the current climate.

Iirc, he famously said that he said what the people wants to hear, so he can win the election and he do not have to do any of those things he said in his mandate [well something along those lines].
