I'm still looking at Joomla but for the moment, I'm not giving up on WordPress.

I have set up a test web page to query the Wordpress DB and show posts on an external page, using this advice:

http://www.corvidworks.com/articles/wordpress-content-on-other-pages

And that works

http://www.huddysworld.co.uk/test.php

However, I want to show other information, such as the image, comments, full post, date added, author, etc. Basically, what options are there?

Doesn't look too bad.. I'm having trouble finding some decernt templates though.. and I can't install the ones I do have.

Def on the right track.

Ooh, I like that layout, though I'm guessing it's the default?

I've been searching all morning for a dark one that I can upload..

I will

If you fancy having a go at mine yourself

Edit - I've managed to add my banner and changed the CSS to the correct height..

I have a few questions... In the following CSS

Where is that transparant blue banner..

Where is the "change font size"?

What colour code is black?

Code:

* HEADER
--------------------------------------------------------- */
#ja-headerwrap {
 background: #333333;
 color: #CCCCCC;
 line-height: normal;
 height: 220px;
}
#ja-header {
 position: relative;
 height: 220px;
}
.ja-headermask {
 width: 602px;
 display: block;
 background: url(../images/header-mask.png) no-repeat top right;
 height: 220px;
 position: absolute;
 top: 0;
 right: -1px;
}
#ja-header a {
 color: #CCCCCC;
}
h1.logo, h1.logo-text {
 margin: 0 0 0 5px;
 padding: 0;
 font-size: 180%;
 text-transform: uppercase;
}
h1.logo a {
 width: 208px;
 display: block;
 background: url(../images/logo.png) no-repeat;
 height: 220px;
 position: relative;
 z-index: 100;
}
h1.logo a span {
 position: absolute;
 top: -1000px;
}
h1.logo-text a {
 color: #CCCCCC !important;
 text-decoration: none;
 outline: none;
 position: absolute;
 bottom: 40px;
 left: 5px;
}
p.site-slogan {
 margin: 0;
 padding: 0;
 padding: 2px 5px;
 color: #FFFFFF;
 background: #444444;
 font-size: 92%;
 position: absolute;
 bottom: 20px;
 left: 0;
}
/* Search */
#ja-search {
 padding-left: 20px;
 background: url(../images/icon-search.gif) no-repeat center left;
 position: absolute;
 bottom: 155px;
 right: 0;
}
#ja-search .inputbox {
 width: 120px;
 border: 1px solid #333333;
 padding: 3px 5px;
 color: #999999;
 background: #444444;
 font-size: 92%;
}

I take it your using Joomla v 1.5.x ?

Where is the blue banner ?

In terms of font size, if you goto Extensions > Template Manager > Edit Theme there should be an option in most Joomla 1.5 templates to change the font size from the control panel without having to manually chop the code. However most of the code that drives the template will be in template.css
