Played it for about 15hrs or more iirc. But like you said, no soul, just monotony.
It certainly had a weird addictive thing going on but ultimately it was dull.

Finally got my hands on a copy of gears 2, i'm impressed with how much the graphics have improved over the original, the AI still seems flakey as ever though . Still, if it's half as good as its predecessor i'll be happy.
Just played the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 demo, sweet jesus it's good. The whole reason i held out for this was because of the dire framerate on the 360 version and after playing a coop mission (with an AI partner) which had a stupid amount of enemies on screen the framerate didn't even falter so i'm pleased.

I've still not finished NG 2 actually. Got stuck after entering the volcano (iirc) facing 2 lava armadillos or something
