Webpages where they've made it so you can't simply click on the back button to go back i.e. it auto-reloads or something - whichever numpty thought this was a good idea should be stuck in a window and doorless room to appreciate what it's like not having the routes out you should have. IMDB has recently started doing this which is rather frustrating when you're looking at biography details of someone and want to go back to the film you were originally looking at.

Oh and the Vauxhall adverts with a "lifetime warranty" - only it's got a 100,000 mile limit to it, surely that's not displaying much faith in how long your car will last for. Admittedly they do say it's only potentially a lifetime warranty but even so it seems a bit poor.

It's usually caused by scripted redirects - i.e. you go to a page and it sends you off somewhere else straight away. Pushing the back button just goes back to the redirect page, and off you go again.

For small sites that don't have access or knowledge to do server-side redirects, it's excusable. For big sites, it's just damn annoying. IMDB would be the latter.

It's still longer than most other manufacturers though.

VW for example is 2 years unlimited mileage and you can purchase another year as long as you're under 60,000 miles. As soon as you hit 3 years or 60,000 miles, no more warranty.

When you realise that most manufacturers have something similar, a 100,000 mile warranty with no time limits actually looks quite good in comparison.

Even Kia and their famous 7 year warranty is limited to 100,000 miles.

It's just weird and annoying as it never used to do that.

Thanks, it's not that I don't understand it to be better than the offerings of many other manufacturers. It's the terminology of it that bugs me - why not just call it a 100,000 miles warranty which is still more than decent? Point out the conditions in full and it's still good e.g. provided you meet the conditions of annual servicing with a Vauxhall dealer and it's under 100,000 miles then it'll be serviced without time limits - except that's not quite as catchy or inaccurate as calling it a lifetime warranty.

It also implies to me a certain lack of faith in your products if it is suggested that 100,000 miles is an expected lifespan of the car but no doubt I'm interpreting it rather more literally than they intended.
